The Balluff GmbH develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of sensors for factory automation. Balluff Sensors Worldwide in mechanical engineering and automobile production are used. The Balluff product range includes electro-mechanical limit switches, inductive proximity sensors, electro-mechanical switching mechanisms, optoelectronic sensors, linear and rotary displacement transducers, inductive identification systems and capable sensors.

Inductive sensors

Balluff inductive sensors are used for controlling, regulating, automating, positioning and monitoring of workflows. They are robust sensors that detect the presence of a metal part.

They are contactless and have an electronic output, ie they are wearing.

Optoelectronic sensors

The extensive program of Balluff photoelectric sensors is used in many applications of robotics, automation, assembly and handling. Each family has its focus on its area and is an excellent specialist.

In addition to cylindrical shapes from M12 to M30, metal, stainless steel and plastic, Balluff offers numerous versions in cubic boxes made of plastic or metal in nearly all sizes with different features and performance.

Magnetic field sensors

Magnetic field sensors respond to an external magnetic field. Its main application is the detection of piston positions on pneumatic cylinders. Depending on the type of sensor has a housing made of polyamide, PBTP, GF-reinforced, or at the sweat-resistant versions of anodized aluminum.

Capacitive Sensors

Capacitive sensors evaluate the change in capacitance caused by the intrusion of an object in the electric field of a capacitor. It follows that the capacitive sensor detects not only metals but also non-conductors, provided the dielectric constant is sufficiently large. Dimensioned according to the capacitive sensor is also able, by certain non-metallic materials through it.

Mechanical Sensors

Electromechanical sensors are electro-mechanical position switches and rotary cam switches with electro-mechanical and inductive switching elements. They serve as non-contact control devices and automatic controls to limit positioning of machine tools and flexible machining centers, robots, assembly and conveyor systems in the automotive industry and the general mechanical and plant engineering.

Micropulse

Balluff Micro Linear Transducer in Profile Housing are by their design, the high level of protection and ease of assembly is an alternative to linear position transducer, such as potentiometers, glass scales and LVDT. The test section is protected in an extruded aluminum profile. The measuring point is marked with no-contact energy supply through a passive position sensor on the measuring section.

Identification Systems (RFID)

Balluff identification systems are indispensable aids TO cope with the flood of information in modern factories. The right information at right time at right place: this requirement is met consistently through the integration of BIS. The code stores all the information carrier, which are available at any decision point on demand.

Remote Systeme

The use of remote systems is a proven solution wherever hardwired sensors can not be used, eg on rotary tables and interchangeable stamping heads. The sensors make the movement of machine parts, on which they are mounted with. The sensors are wired to the transmitter.

AS-Interface

In the computer-controlled production of material and information flow are inextricably linked. This consistent coupling is now necessary for flexibility and efficiency in automation. BUS Systems ensure a reliable exchange of information between material flow and data processing for all areas of manufacturing, in which material is moved.

Good to know

Gut zu wissen: Bernstein

Sensors are technical components, the physical or chemical properties such as: can temperature, light, humidity, pressure and the material nature of its environment collect qualitative or quantitative. These variables are measured by physical or chemical effects, and converted into electrical signals. For the measurement technique is used in DIN 1319-1, the term transducer measurements.

Sensors can be divided. On the size and production technology as well as on the application and use. More Information...
